Primary school students in Tokat broke new ground in Turkey with the stories and tales they wrote within the scope of the “Richness of Our Language” project. The works of the students who participated in the Story Writing Competition with Keywords held at the school made it to the finals and were turned into a book.

Gazipaşa Primary School students in Artova district of Tokat broke new ground in Turkey with the stories and tales they wrote within the scope of the “Richness of Our Language” project. The works of the students who participated in the Story Writing Competition with Keywords held at the school made it to the finals and were turned into a book. The project, which was carried out under the leadership of Gazipaşa Primary School Principal Göksel Taslıoğlu and with the support of District Governor Erkan Atam, aimed to reveal the literary talents of primary school students. The 6 shortlisted stories were carefully compiled and turned into a book published under the name “Stories and Tales from Little Hearts”. This book, printed in 400 copies, is also supported by the Ministry of National Education. Students gaining writing experience at an early age and having their works published feeds their dreams of becoming famous writers in the future. With the successful completion of the project, Artova Gazipaşa Primary School students achieved the success of writing and publishing books at the primary school level for the first time in Turkey. This project offers students the opportunity to develop their creativity and writing skills, while also contributing to the preservation of language and cultural richness.

“We said it should be read not only in Artova but also in Turkey”

Providing information about the project, Artova District Governor Erkan Atam said; “Gazipaşa Primary School students organized a Story Writing Competition with Key Words. As a result of this competition, we saw that our students are really talented. We thought that these stories should be read not only in Artova but all over Turkey. We supported our students and compiled these stories and stories into books and distributed them to public institutions. “And we distributed it to our library,” he said.

“Our children grasped the spirit of the project”

Stating that the project is important for the development of language awareness, Tokat National Education Director Hüseyin Kır said, “It is very important for our young children to understand the spirit of the project and prepare texts within this framework for the development of language awareness. In addition, this work was carried out thanks to the efforts of the school principal, the organization of our district national education director and the district “Our district governor supported the project and its publication as a book led to the emergence of a very nice product,” he said.

Providing information about the book, Artova Gazipaşa Primary School Principal and editor of the book, Göksel Taslıoğlu, said, “We organized a competition with our students within the scope of the Riches of Our Language project. As a result of this competition, we wanted to immortalize their beautiful writings and here we are today. Now they have books. We have writers who write huge articles with their little hearts.”

The author of the book stated that primary school students dream of becoming a famous writer when they grow up.
