Romanian students examined the learning center of Akdeniz Municipality

A group of Romanian students and teachers who came to Turkey within the scope of the Erasmus Program visited the ‘Learning by Doing and Living Center’, which was opened by Mersin’s central district Akdeniz Municipality and is a first in the district.

The ‘Learning by Doing and Experiencing Center’, which was opened by Akdeniz Municipality and is a first in the district, continues to be the focus of attention of students studying abroad as well as throughout the city and district. The center, which offers children the opportunity to learn about science and technology by seeing, trying and applying it, was recently visited by students and teachers from Romania. Council members Samet Oğuz, Ahmet Tuncer and Aydın Keskinkılıç, who accompanied the Romanian students, also tested and used some tools and devices.

Expressing their pleasure and happiness to see the center, Romanian students carried out experiments and watched with curiosity the scientific tools, equipment and materials and various drawings. Young people said that they had the chance to try and see some of the lessons and subjects explained in the books at the center, and that some electronic devices attracted their attention and that they both learned and had fun at the center.

In the center opened to Gündoğdu District of Akdeniz district, ‘electricity production from energy; There are special environments where children and young people can meet science and technology, such as Arduino training (a microcontroller platform with open source software and hardware), robotic coding, helping preschool children develop hand-brain coordination and problem-solving skills, and planetarium. The aim of the center, which aims to enable students studying in other central districts as well as the Mediterranean to learn by doing and trying, is to provide children with daily life skills as well as to achieve permanent learning and raise the bar of success in education higher.
