The designs produced by the children participating in the ‘AHİKA Looks at the Cities of the Future through the Eyes of Children: Design Workshops for a Livable Tomorrow’ project, organized in cooperation with the Ahiler Development Agency and the Finnish-based developer education institution Arkki, started to be exhibited with the Project Launch held at Kırşehir Neşet Ertaş Culture and Arts Center.

In the program, in which Turkish Design Foundation Board Members and Arkki Turkey Coordinator also participated, after the opening speeches, Badem Pınarı Board Member Mustafa Badem informed the children about waste management and environmental awareness, and the project documentary, including the interviews of the children participating in the project, was watched. Children who visited the exhibition throughout the day also participated in workshops organized by Arkki instructors. The exhibition can be seen at Neşet Ertaş Culture and Art Center until April 30.

Within the framework of the project, design workshops attended by 152 children between the ages of 7-12 living in Aksaray, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Nevşehir and Niğde were held between 18-22 March. Children who contribute to the vision of cities by dreaming of future life; He was involved in a design thinking process that emphasized creating drawings and models for a beautiful, sustainable and inclusive life. Through the workshops, children produced innovative ideas and three-dimensional solutions on topics such as new technologies, sustainability, nature, integration, renewal and recycling. In these design workshops, which were implemented within the framework of Ahiler Development Agency’s activity to reach disadvantaged children living in rural areas in the region, waste plastic bottles of the Badem Pınarı company and local materials in each province were used.
