Arda Tuna, a female entrepreneur who returned to her village in Giresun after living in Bodrum district of Muğla for about 18 years, has been engaged in animal husbandry with state support for 6 years.

Tuna, who settled in Bodrum with his family in 2000, decided to return to Kalegüney village of Bulancak district in 2018.

Tuna established a dairy farm for cattle breeding on 12.5 decares of land belonging to his family, with the support he received from the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (TKDK).

Tuna, who has a business with a capacity of 48 animals in his village 20 kilometers from the coast, has also prepared a state-supported solar power plant (SPP) project to meet his other expenses, especially feed.

47-year-old Tuna, mother of two children, said that she was happy to return to her village and work as a livestock breeder.

Stating that he has been working in the dairy farm for 6 years with the support of his family, Tuna stated that he currently has 15 cattle in his facility and said, “We will increase this number in the future.” said.

Stating that he has also prepared a solar power project to cover his expenses, Tuna said, “We presented our project to ARDSI and it was accepted. We plan to obtain 60 kilowatts of energy from the solar power plant, which will be built of approximately 120 panels. We aim to cover other expenses, especially feed, with the income from the project.” he said.

“I was very novice at first, I’m just improving myself”

Tuna stated that he lived in Bodrum for many years and continued as follows:

“I am happier living here than in Bodrum. At least I contribute to production and animal husbandry. I produce myself. I have a more comfortable and beautiful life. Yes, Bodrum is very beautiful up to a point, but there is an end to the holiday. I am very happy here right now. “It is my own business. We aim to produce better quality, more natural products in our region as much as we can through this business.”

Pointing out the importance of production, Tuna said, “This is a natural production area. The most beautiful thing is that you grow whatever you want to give to people in your own facility. I was very novice at first, but I am just improving myself. Village life is very different from city life. It is much more beautiful. The beauty of living in the village.” “I experience the emotions too.” he said.
