The Ministry of Commerce announced that there will be a ban on exporting chicken abroad in order to prevent the exorbitant price increase in white meat. It was stated that with this ban, chicken exported abroad will be directed to the domestic market and the price increase will be prevented.

Uludağ also reminded that 136 price gouging inspectors were recently appointed by the Ministry of Commerce in Istanbul. Stating that the price gouging inspectors said, “The price increase in red meat also affected white meat,” Uludağ stated that citizens turned to white meat, and with the measures taken, the supply of white meat increased and believed in the prices.

Stating that the Ministry made a statement about red meat prices, CNN Turk Istanbul News Director Uludağ said, “There are also studies on red meat. Eid al-Adha will be in the coming days. The supply of meat to the market will increase even more. The prices of red meat will also decrease.”
