The “Turkish Century Education Model” new curriculum draft for compulsory courses at all education levels by the Ministry of National Education was presented to the public at “https://gorusoneri.meb.gov.tr”. Comments on the new curriculum draft will be available on the website for one week.

The Turkey Century Education Model emerged as the product of a long-term study not only in the last year but also in ten years.

During the curriculum preparation process, analyzes were made and meetings were held based on long exchanges of views and public reflections. All this accumulation was taken as data in the summer months of last year and this data was systematized.

While creating the skills framework of the model, twenty workshops were held with the participation of academicians, teachers and other education stakeholders. Afterwards, the teams formed for each course completed the preparations of the curriculum by holding hundreds of meetings.

Since the summer months alone, meetings have been held with more than 1000 teachers and academicians, and 260 academicians and over 700 teachers have constantly attended these meetings.

Apart from this, more than 1000 education stakeholders worked together, along with academics and teachers whose opinions were additionally consulted. All units in the central organization of the Ministry also worked intensively on the curriculum.

After a one-week suspension period, the “Turkey Century Education Model” will be revised by the Board of Education and Discipline in line with the latest criticisms, opinions, suggestions and shares and will reach its final form.

The new curriculum will be gradually implemented in pre-school, primary school first grade, secondary school fifth grade and high school ninth grade starting from the next academic year.

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, in his post on his social media account, said, ‘Your experience, suggestions and support are important to us. What we have created with a long-term work of not only the last year, but also ten years; We presented our new curriculum study, named “Turkey Century Education Model”, which was created with the intense work and contributions of our academicians, teachers and stakeholders, to the public and everyone who cares about education.’ he said.
