“Financial Literacy Education Program for Youth” award ceremony was held in Adana

ADANA – The award ceremony of the “Financial Literacy Education Program for Young People”, which was launched in Adana to help young people gain financial literacy, was held.

The Financial Literacy Training Program for Youth, which was implemented under the sponsorship of Halkbank with the aim of training future leaders, was carried out in Adana, which was determined as the pilot region.

Within the scope of the program, 1700 students in the 11th grade from 18 Vocational Technical Anatolian High Schools were given 600 minutes of training using the training module of academics from Bilgi University and Istanbul University.

Young people, who completed their financial literacy training consisting of three weeks and 5 modules, participated in the competition with the projects they prepared under the title of “Financial management”.

The 33-team competition phase of the project, organized with the support of Adana Provincial Directorate of National Education, Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Industry, Commodity Exchange, Yüreğir Municipality and Adana Hacı Sabancı Organized Industry Women’s Platform, ended with the ceremony held at Sarıçam Evliya Çelebi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Conference Hall.

At the opening of the ceremony, the message sent by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the program was read.

Adana Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger said at the ceremony that the target audience was chosen very well.

Stating that the project is carried out on a very important issue, Köşger said, “The work done is very important. Preparing for life, teaching how to manage money… Happiness cannot be achieved with money, but it does not happen if you do not manage money well. Many family disasters occur due to not managing money well. Effort and heart are put into this work.” “I thank everyone who gave.” said.

AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Özlem Zengin also stated that she was happy to be in the program.

Explaining that it is important for young people to be a part of this program, Zengin said:

“Nothing in life comes about with great things. All the work we do, all the achievements actually come about through planned, orderly and directional work. Our savings are the same. When I look at my own life, I did not buy anything I have when I had money. There is no time, with effort, in a certain way. “I see that I did it by pushing the conditions. It is especially important for you, young people, to be a part of a program called financial literacy and to be a part of such an investment in yourself, your future and your family.”

Sunay Karamık, leader of the Financial Literacy Training Program for Young People and AK Party Adana Deputy, also explained that the participants received training on finance.

Stating that they will work to continue the project, Karamık said, “Hopefully, we will spread this project throughout Adana. Then, we will continue our project in earthquake provinces and throughout Turkey.” said.

Selin Sarıkaya, the founder of İdeaLab Consulting, the project’s executive, also made a presentation in the program.

Following the speeches, awards were given to the teams of the winning schools in the competition held within the scope of the project.

Halkbank Regional Manager Şerif Göğebakan, chamber presidents and students who supported the project also attended the ceremony.
