“TURKISH CENTURY EDUCATION MODEL”
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated that they defined the name of the new curriculum as “Turkey Century Education Model” and said, “We made an effort to produce a unique model by utilizing universal models and placing our own values into the system.” He made a statement.

The new curriculum aims to provide students with literacy skills in 9 areas: information, digital, financial, visual, culture, citizenship, data, sustainability and art.

“WE DILUTED THE CURRICULUM BY 35 PERCENT”
Tekin drew attention to the subject density of the current curriculum.
He explained that instead of increasing the weekly lesson hours to complete the curriculum, they simplified the subjects.
Minister of National Education said, “There is no change in class hours, there is a simplification of the subjects. We have entered a 35 percent dilution in the curriculum.” said.

At the end of the one-week suspension period, the Board of Education will review the criticisms, opinions and suggestions and give the final shape to the curriculum.
The new curriculum will be put into effect in the first grade of each level in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Preschool, first primary school, fifth grade secondary school and ninth grade high school students will be educated with the new curriculum.
