Work in Zonguldak-Filyos tunnels continues uninterruptedly

Tunnel and road works between Zonguldak and Filyos continue uninterruptedly.
AK Party Zonguldak Deputy Muammer Avcı visited the Kilimli-Muslu tunnels and made inspections.
Receiving information from the officials of the contractor company, Avcı said, ‘We visited all our tunnels for the works between Kilimli-Muslu and Muslu-Filyos, which will connect our Zonguldak to Filyos and the Filyos Valley Project and consists of two stages. As you know, we have a project connecting Kilimli-Muslu that we follow with great excitement. There will be a tunnel opening of 6 thousand meters, including 3 thousand meters of entrance and 3 thousand meters of return. Currently, the tunnel opening is 1,400 meters in the sea part and 1,390 meters in the inner part. We see that we are about halfway through the tunnel. Work here continues with one hundred and seventy personnel. There is a work that continues day and night without slowing down. Hopefully, it will continue without slowing down from now on. “Hopefully, after Eid al-Adha, our organization that we see as the second stage towards Muslu and Zonguldak, which will ensure that the tunnel works on both sides, will begin,” he said.

‘Zonguldak Filyos distance will be reduced to 16 minutes’
Speaking about the number of tunnels in the project between Muslu and Filyos, Avcı said, ‘With the renovation we made in the project, we reduced the number of tunnels to 5 entrances and 5 divisions. As for the overall project; The tunnel opening will be 18,500 meters. We have currently opened 7,930 meters of it. On the other hand, we both open the tunnel and then carry out what we call final coating. At this level, we have progressed to 3330 meters. I must emphasize that; This road constitutes an important axis of the Black Sea Coastal Road, which starts from Artvin and continues to Istanbul, and we are talking about a project that will facilitate transportation from Zonguldak to Filyos in 16 minutes. On this occasion; We would like to thank our esteemed President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who personally gave the instruction to carry out this project, our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, for his close follow-up, and all our personnel working in the contractor company.
We know that with this project, Zonguldak will fill a huge gap, especially in terms of employment.
