Visit from KGC to Konya bureaucrats in Ankara

--

Konya Journalists Association (KGC) President Sefa Özdemir and board members made their first official visit of the new term in Ankara. KGC Management visited bureaucrats from Konya and exchanged ideas with the media and Konya specifically.

Medya-İş Union, the only authorized union of all media members throughout Turkey, was the first visit stop and departure point of the KGC Management in Ankara.

ÖZÇELİK: KONYA’S CONTRIBUTION TO PRODUCTION AND EMPLOYMENT IS GREAT

Then, the Association Management visited the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security, Faruk Özçelik.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit of journalists from Konya, Deputy Minister Faruk Özçelik said, “The visit of our journalist friends in Konya to Ankara both pleases and motivates us. “Through these visits, we can come together with our journalist friends in Konya, with whom we are in constant contact, and talk about Konya, which is our common denominator, in more depth,” he said. During the visit, where evaluations were made on the workforce gap across Turkey, new business areas, popular business lines and employment-oriented projects, Deputy Minister Faruk Özçelik also specifically touched upon Konya’s employment potential.

Stating that Konya’s industry, which has made a great leap forward in recent years, has also made significant contributions to employment, MoLSS Deputy Faruk Özçelik said, “According to our analysis, the sector with the highest number of employees in Konya is the manufacturing sector. This is followed by wholesale and retail trade, administrative and support services activity, construction, transportation and storage business lines. The manufacturing sector is far ahead of other business lines. Again, approximately 40 percent of those operating in the manufacturing sector are workplaces with open jobs. So these workplaces are constantly looking for employees. These data show us that Konya is a city that produces, is determined to produce more, and makes significant contributions to business life and employment along with production. The impact of you, members of the media, in carrying Konya’s existing potential to higher levels is undeniable. “I would like to thank you and the entire Konya media for your efforts,” he said.

AKIŞ: THERE IS A STRONG KONYA IN ANKARA

One of the stops of the KGC’s visits during the Ankara landing was the Presidential Complex in Beştepe. The delegation visited Chief Advisor to the President Mustafa Akı and talked about Konya in all its aspects. Stating that although he is in Ankara, at the Presidential Complex, he follows Konya very closely and always has one foot in Konya, Chief Advisor to the President Mustafa Akı said, “There is a strong Konya in Ankara. We are doing our best in our field of duty to further increase this power. From Konya, which we look at as a whole, we receive the opinions and suggestions of local governments, representatives of public institutions in our city and NGOs in line with the interests and interests of our city, and if there is an issue that we can solve from here, we provide the necessary support in this regard. The most important stakeholders of this process, in which we can follow Konya closely, are the press members in Konya. We see, know and are informed about all kinds of developments regarding Konya, Konya’s expectations and problems, both through publications and through our personal relationships. “On the occasion of your visit, I would like to express my special thanks to the Konya media, which serves as a public sector and fulfills its duty fairly and properly,” he said.

TUZCUOĞLU: 240 THOUSAND HOUSES WILL BE DELIVERED IN 2024

The last stop of the visits was the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. The KGC delegation met with Deputy Minister Refik Tuzcuoğlu at the Ministry building for dinner and evaluated both Konya and the work in 11 provinces hit by the earthquake.

Refik Tuzcuoğlu, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, noted that Konya has built the future with the values it received from the past, without breaking away from its roots of civilization, by preserving its cultural treasure, and that it sets a good example in terms of local governments, and said: The action he put forward carried Konya to an important place among similar cities. Again, our Ministry evaluates the reasonable requests of our local governments in the best way possible and fulfills its duty in providing the necessary infrastructure for the development of Konya. As a child of Konya and its representative in Ankara, we can take responsibility without fear when it comes to Konya and provide the necessary support to produce solutions and get results with all our strength. “We will continue to fight together for our city,” he said.

EVEN THE SAFEEST CITIES, KONYA AND KARAMAN, ARE RISKY

Pointing out that the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change took on the most important task in healing the wounds after the earthquake that occurred in February 2023 and caused great destruction in 11 provinces, Tuzcuoğlu said, “Our job is really difficult in the earthquake zone. We do not build a building on an empty, zoned land with ready-made infrastructure. While debris removal efforts are being carried out, the demolition of risky buildings continues. On the other hand, both infrastructure works and housing production activities continue for the rapid development and construction of cities. Renovation and reconstruction works in earthquake zones continue rapidly under the supervision of our Ministry, through TOKİ and Emlak Konut. The target is to deliver 240 thousand houses in all 11 cities in 2024. By using steel materials, we have reduced the process of building construction and housing production to the shortest possible time. Hopefully we will get the results of this as soon as possible. On the other hand, our work on planning, projecting and physical realization continues at full speed in order to prepare our cities, especially those with high earthquake risk, for earthquakes. We pray that God will never make us experience such great pain again. However, we also know very well that our country is perhaps in the first place among the countries with the highest earthquake risk in Europe. There is no guarantee that an earthquake will not occur even in Konya and Karaman, the cities with the least earthquake risk. “When the fault lines around us create large earthquakes, their impact areas can spread over very wide areas,” he said.

During the visits of the Konya Journalists Association in Ankara, a painting containing the Seljuk Star, the most important symbol of Konya, was given as a gift to the bureaucrats of Konya in memory of the day. The visits ended with photo shoots to commemorate the day.
