Gaziantep EU Information Center organized a meeting for EU-supported projects

A meeting was held, hosted by the Gaziantep EU Information Center (Gaziantep ABBM), which was established in the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTO) in 1996 as Turkey’s first EU Information Center, where NGOs carrying out EU-supported projects in Gaziantep and various provinces of Turkey came together.

At the meeting attended by Ramnas Janusauskas, Head of the Turkey Communication Department of the European Union Delegation to Turkey, and representatives of national and international institutions implementing EU projects and programs, projects that will support regional development after the earthquake were discussed.

Speaking at the meeting, GTO Deputy Secretary Gülbin Çalışkantürk said that they have been carrying out EU projects devotedly for nearly 30 years and have made significant contributions to the development of Gaziantep and the region during this process.

Drawing attention to the fact that Gaziantep and the regional provinces are in a disadvantaged position, Çalışkantürk said, “After the intense migration to the region after the Syrian civil war, the pandemic and finally the disaster of the century, the February 6 Earthquakes, project work has become much more important for the development of Gaziantep and the regional provinces. At this point, the European Union also I would like to open a separate parenthesis: We have carried out very valuable projects together for many years. We have always felt the support of the EU in the negativities we have experienced in recent years and we have carried out our projects together, before the Head of the Turkey Communication Department of the EU Delegation to Turkey. “I would like to thank the delegation on behalf of all our participants. I hope that together we will undertake many projects that will contribute to the region.”

Ramnas Janusauskas, Head of the Turkey Communications Department of the EU Delegation to Turkey, stated that they are very pleased to have signed many projects together with the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce and to contribute to the city and the region, and said, “I would like to thank the representatives of all institutions who are with us here today. One of our goals in this meeting is the EU project and to increase the cooperation network between organizations implementing the programs in a sustainable way,” he said. – GAZİANTEP
