Bilecik Culture and Tourism Provincial Director Serkan Bircan said that 109 thousand local and foreign people will stay in the city in 2023.
Provincial Director Bircan gave information about the number of hotels, rooms and beds throughout the province in 2023. Bircan said, “More than 1.5 million people visited Bilecik, the city of establishment and liberation, in 2023. The majority of these visits were the tombs of Ertuğrulgazi and Şeyh Edebali. We expect more than 2 million visitors in 2024 in these lands where the Ottoman Empire was founded. We visit our city, especially Bursa, Eskişehir, Some come on their own, some come on municipal tours, such as Afyon, Kütahya, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Konya and Istanbul. In our city, the number of hotels with a tourism operation certificate and a simple accommodation certificate from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is 53, the number of rooms is 1,634, and the number of beds is 3,235. “A total of 109 thousand 31 people, 10 thousand 3732 of whom were local and 5 thousand 299 of whom were foreigners, visited our city in 2023. In addition, there are 5 facilities with tourism operation certificates and 11 travel agencies in our city,” he said.
