During the operation carried out in the rural area of Tatvan district of Bitlis, 200 kilograms of handmade explosives seized along with a large amount of ammunition were destroyed.
In the statement made by Bitlis Governorship, it was stated that as a result of the intelligence studies carried out by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command elements, the Martyr Gendarmerie Lieutenant Baki Koçak Operation was carried out in the Tatvan district rural area on April 25, 2024. In the statement, “As a result of the operation, it was hidden in the ground in the rocky area; 1 RPG-7 rocket launcher ammunition, 3 RPG-7 rocket launcher propellant cartridges, 1 hand grenade, 4 remote cable controlled IED device containing 200 kilograms of explosive material placed in tin canisters, 1 piece of 20 battery block, 15 meters of electrical cable was seized. “The seized materials were kept under the instructions of the Bitlis Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.”
