The number of electric vehicles and charging units is gradually increasing in Turkey, many people are installing charging units in front of their detached houses and summer houses, and some cafe and restaurant operators are installing charging units in front of their workplaces for their customers.

As a result of the investments made by charging network operators licensed by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, 3 thousand 81 charging points were in service across Turkey at the beginning of 2023, while as of April 1, this number increased to 17, of which 11 thousand 412 were slow charging and 5 thousand 821 were fast charging. Togg user Alparslan Oğuz, who has a summer house in Yaylabaşı village of the center, stated that the charging station he installed in his house is more economical than outside.

Oğuz said: “I installed a charging unit in my summer house in the village. Many of my friends also installed charging units. Charging my vehicle at home has both economic benefits and convenience. The charging unit I installed is compatible with the electrical system in my home. When I first bought my car, it was 4 or 4 hours old.” “There were charging stations in 5 places. Now, let alone city centers, there are charging units in many districts and even summer houses in villages.”

Orhun Ertem also stated that after buying an electric vehicle for his wife, they installed a vehicle charging unit in their house in Yaylabaşı village of the center.

Şafak Şahin, one of the customers, also stated that electric vehicles are more advantageous in terms of fuel and maintenance costs.

Stating that they are very pleased to have a charging unit in front of the cafe, Şahin said, “We used to see charging stations mostly in shopping malls, but now we can find them in cafes. We think that as the number of vehicles increases, the stations will be installed in more places.” he said.
