TURKSTAT Children’s Portal was Introduced in Malatya

Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkish Statistical Institute) launched the “Turkish Statistical Institute Children” portal to make children love statistics and increase data literacy. MalatyaIt was introduced to primary school students in .

On the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the establishment of TÜİK and Turkey Statistics Day, the employees of TÜİK Malatya Regional Directorate introduced the “Turkish Statistical Institute Children” portal to the 4th grade students of Fırat Primary School, accompanied by a video.

In the program held in the School’s Conference Hall, students were informed about the science of statistics and were shown short visuals on the portal such as children’s rights, the introduction of TUIK and statistical science.

While the portal provides basic concepts about statistics and information about Turkey under the title “Our Country”, there is also a section on children’s rights and traditional children’s games.

Personalized certificates printed from the “TURKSTAT Children’s” portal were distributed to children.

TÜİK team also held a mini competition containing some information such as the population of Malatya, the number of districts and how many provinces Turkey has, and gave agendas to the students who answered the questions correctly.

In his speech here, TÜİK Malatya Regional Directorate Statistics Group Manager Ramazan Oruç said that they aim to contribute to the development of children by teaching them concepts related to statistics in an entertaining way, with the work they carry out with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Turkey Office.

Explaining that they promoted the portal at Fırat Primary School, Oruç said:

“The employees of our institution have made a serious effort for the platform. We have created a beautiful platform. We have created statistics that are simple and at a level that our children can understand. It is a platform where they can enter, play games, spend time and access certain statistics. We invite all our children to enter and visit this platform. Good We think it is a work that we presented to all our children as an April 23 gift this year.”

The children also stated that the event was very nice and that they had a nice day and had fun, and that TÜİK employees gave them a certificate with brief information about them.
