M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), visited Adana Chamber of Industry and met with Adana Chamber of Industry Council President İsrafil Uçurum, Chairman of the Board Zeki Kıvanç, Board Members and Council Members.

TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited Adana Chamber of Industry and made evaluations about the industrial potential and future of the city. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Adana is an important industrial center not only regionally but also nationally and internationally. Stating that he and TOBB follow Adana’s industrial development closely, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the city’s industrial infrastructure should be strengthened and supported with innovative projects.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Adana is one of the locomotive provinces of the industrialization of Anatolia. Adana is among the provinces with high transformation capacity. However, this success is not only for today, it must also be sustainable in the future. “For this, chambers of industry, local governments and the business world should cooperate and create a future vision with strategic plans,” he said. Additionally, underlining the importance of technological transformation, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Adana should take a leading role in digitalization and innovation.

TOBB President also stated that Adana’s geographical location and logistics infrastructure are an important advantage in international trade. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Adana Chamber of Industry should listen to the sectoral problems and demands of its members and adopt solution-oriented approaches. Emphasizing the need for cooperation and solidarity to solve the problems faced by the members, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the importance of Adana will gradually increase for the strengthening of the Turkish economy.

Stating that Adana is on the verge of a great change and transformation, Zeki Kıvanç, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Adana Chamber of Industry, said: “Our Adana has supported the development of a wide variety of production in our city with the industrial culture it has acquired for over a century. Today, it is present in the world markets with its production in hundreds of different fields, from automotive to electronic cards, machinery to furniture, ships, textiles, edible oil and chemical products. In the study conducted by TEPAV, Adana was shown as one of the two provinces with high development potential in Turkey. This is an important message for the future position of the province. With the establishment of a total of 5 new organized industrial zones and nearly 15 small industrial sites, Adana will be among the most important provinces that will contribute to our country’s economy in the new century of our Republic. For now, we are opening over 100 million square meters of area to industry. “Once these investment areas become operational, Adana will become a second Marmara region of Turkey,” he said.
