Cavit AKGÜN / MUĞLA, (DHA)-MUĞLA Regional Directorate of Forestry prepared a film for the people living in rural neighborhoods, explaining the precautions to be taken and what needs to be done against fires.
A stimulating and informative short film was prepared for the people living in rural neighborhoods by Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry. In the 3 minutes and 45 seconds film prepared in cooperation with the Press Communications and Forest Fire Fighting Branch Directorates, it was stated that the extraordinary weather conditions caused by global warming and climate change in recent years increased the risk of possible forest fires growing in the summer months. In the film, the measures to be taken to reduce the risk and prevent settlements from being damaged by large forest fires were explained, accompanied by shots taken in villages.
In the short film, the precautions to be taken and the things to pay attention to in the forest and nearby settlements, with the theme of ‘Take precautions, protect your village’, ‘In case of a possible fire, if the flames approach the houses, let’s close all the doors and windows and act according to the instructions from the officials’, ‘Easily flammable materials in the gardens of the houses. Let’s store materials such as animal feed and hay, which are very difficult to extinguish, in places far from houses and forests’, ‘Water tankers in villages should be kept filled with water during the fire season and ready for use in case of need’, ‘Especially warn young children and young people about fires and not to play with fire. It was explained under a total of 12 headings with items such as ‘they should be warned about’. In the last part of the film, it was stated that the General Directorate of Forestry is a deep-rooted and institutional organization with its work on protecting forests and transferring them to future generations.
