A fight broke out between Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and Izmit Municipality teams due to asphalting work on a street.
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality teams started asphalting work on the closed but planned to be opened road leading to the parking lot of Kocaeli City Hospital, following Okan Street in Tavşantepe District.
A discussion started between Izmit Municipality teams and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality teams, who stated that the street was in their area of responsibility.
As the discussion escalated, a fight broke out between the two municipal teams.
After the incident, Izmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Hasan Aydınlık came to the region and had a meeting.
After the meeting, Metropolitan Municipality teams left the area by asphalting approximately 80 meters of the road.
It was learned that the remaining part of the road will be asphalted by Izmit Municipality.
