According to the new agreement between IMAX and CineNOVA Cinemas, four IMAX theaters will be opened with laser projection technology, which has not been available before in Turkey.
CineNOVA, the owner of the movie theaters in Istanbul’s Marmara Forum, Forum Istanbul and Ankara Gordion, plans to open new IMAX theaters with laser projection technology that provides 4K images in both cities in 2024. It has not yet been announced where the other two halls will be opened. The openings are expected to be completed by 2026.
According to PR Newswire, CineNOVA CEO Hakan Askar said that their goal is to offer the audience the quality and service that cinema deserves.
Despite the limited number of IMAX theaters, Türkiye is one of the ten countries with the highest revenue in IMAX theaters in Europe.
