As a result of wolves attacking a goat herd in Isparta, the shepherd was injured and 1 goat died. Explaining the fear he experienced, shepherd Hasan Demirbaş said, “The wolves ate 15 of my goats in the last two months.”

The incident took place in Yeşilyurt village of Sütçüler district of Isparta. According to the information obtained, shepherd Hasan Demirbaş, who was taking his goats to graze in the village, was injured as a result of a wolf attack. Following the incident, in which 1 goat perished, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region upon notice. Injured Shepherd Hasan Demirbaş was taken to Sütçüler State Hospital after the first intervention of the medical teams. He was treated after rabies vaccination at the hospital.

Explaining the fear he experienced as a result of the attack, Demirbaş stated that 15 small cattle had perished in the last two months and said, “The wolf grabbed one of the goats and I ran, while while running, 3 wolves were dragging the goat. There was a tree moving behind me, I turned around and another wolf attacked me and put its two feet on my shoulders. I pulled my jacket over my head. I landed on the ground with his weight on top of me. Then came my herding dog. When he bit that wolf, he left us. I was injured in my hand. Wolves killed 15 of my goats in two months. Then they informed the medical teams, we went to the hospital and got the rabies vaccine. “The wolf problem is huge here,” he said.
