An award ceremony was held at ETÜ’s Faculty of Science Conference Hall for the project teams that were entitled to receive support within the scope of the “2209-A University Students Support Program” of the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). ETU Rector Prof. attended the event. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ali Fatih Yetim, Prof. Dr. Ceren Sultan Elmalı, deans, academicians and students whose projects were accepted attended.

The number of projects is increasing every year

Speaking at the opening of the program, Rector Çakmak pointed out that the number of projects developed and accepted at ETÜ is increasing with each passing period and said: “As you know, TÜBİTAK Secondary School Students Research Projects Competitions are hosted by our university. When I see them, I remember your childhood. Because project culture begins to be acquired from that age onwards. When it comes to projects, R&D activities prepared by academics usually come to mind. However, recently, with the support of TÜBİTAK, this understanding has changed and now we are also talking about projects prepared by students. At this point, your achievements will make significant contributions to the recognition and awareness of our university and will also provide very important gains in terms of your careers. Because when we look at the feedback we receive from our graduate students, we see that employers prioritize criteria such as being prone to team work and having a project culture, in addition to academic success. I believe that the number of our projects accepted with the same determination and perseverance will increase even more in the coming period. “On this occasion, I would like to thank you, our valued students, and our advisors who have guided you with their knowledge and experience, and I wish you continued success,” he said.
