The first and second places in 2 groups consisting of 9 teams faced each other in a cross match.

Amasya University, Istanbul Rumeli University, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Istanbul Gedik University, Süleyman Demirel University, MEF University and Fenerbahçe University participated in the championship for men.

In the Interuniversity Foot Tennis Turkish Championship held in Kütahya on 20-23 April, Amasya University’s triple men’s foot tennis team defeated 6 teams and became the Turkish champion.

Amasya University Rector Prof. visited the athletes’ training. Dr. Ahmet Hakkı Turabi said, “First of all, we are very happy about this. Inter-university, Türkiye Being first in inter-university foot tennis made us very happy for men. For this, I wholeheartedly congratulate both our teacher and our students. As a university, we support our students who are active in sports activities, especially in these abilities. We are both creating infrastructure and after creating infrastructure, we will provide them with all kinds of support, especially in terms of representing us and our country.” said.

Amasya University Foot Tennis Team coach and lecturer Ali Galip Yücel said that these children had previously played football in the school team. “We identified 6 athletes who were talented among them, those we believed could become nationals, and participated in these competitions. They did not embarrass us either. “Our athletes, whom we consider talented, took their talents to a higher level and in this way, they won the Turkish championship in football and foot tennis and succeeded in advancing to the national team.” he said.

Amasya University Foot Team athlete Serdar Demir, who is studying Physical Education Teaching, “We played foot tennis matches in the Super League among 9 teams. There were 4 teams in the group matches. We qualified for the semi-finals by playing 3 matches and winning all the group matches with 2-0 sets. Our opponent in the semi-finals was our students from Süleyman Demirel University, who were national team athletes. It was a good match with the National Team athletes, we went head to head and won the sets again, 2-0. In the last match, we played against the host Kütahya Dumlupınar University. We beat them 2-0 and became the Turkish Champion.” said.

Amasya University men’s Foot Tennis team is preparing for the European and World championships after becoming the Turkish champion.

By establishing the Amasya University Foundation next year, students who are successful in sports and arts will be supported by the university with these scholarships.
