Tatar mentioned that the number of passengers coming from Turkey has increased: Global travel

President Ersin Tatarreceived and met with the delegation of the Istanbul Industrialists’ and Investor Businessmen’s Association (İSİYAD).

According to the statement made by the Presidency, Tatar, in his speech at the reception held yesterday, pointed out the importance of strengthening and developing the ties, commercial and economic relations between the Republic of Turkey and the TRNC in the age of communication.

President Tatar mentioned that the number of passengers coming from the Republic of Turkey has increased in the last 6 months with the opening of the new airport and flights from many regions of Turkey, and said that rapprochement and cooperation in the global world has increased.

Stating that some sectors are developing with R&D studies in the software industry, Tatar noted that Turkish Cypriots who migrated abroad in the past are now returning to the island, activities in the TRNC are developing and opportunities are arising.

Stating that investments in TRNC are important and sharing experiences with investments from the Republic of Turkey is valuable, Tatar stated that he was pleased to see the ISIYAD delegation in the country.

President Tatar said that the new policy in Cyprus is a two-state solution and that this policy is fully supported by the Republic of Turkey and is becoming more accepted day by day.

Stating that negotiations can only be started with the acceptance of the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriots, Tatar said, “If there is to be an agreement, TRNC will be a part of this agreement.”

Stating that TRNC will develop further with the right investments by evaluating investment opportunities in TRNC, President Tatar wished the ISIYAD delegation success in their work.

Cuma İçten, Chairman of the High Advisory Board of Istanbul Industrialists’ and Investor Businessmen’s Association (İSİYAD) and former AK Party Diyarbakır MP, also gave information about the work of the association and stated that they aim to invest in needed areas in TRNC.

Cemal Çoban, Chairman of the Istanbul Industrialists and Investor Businessmen Association (İSİYAD), shared information about the activities and projects carried out by the association and made evaluations about the investments that can be made in TRNC.
