Zonguldak May 1st Organization Committee held its last meeting at the General Mine Workers’ Union (GMİS) Meeting Hall with the participation of representatives of unions, professional organizations and political parties. After the meeting, a press release was made at the Miner’s Monument and the May 1 program was announced.
The statement was made by GMİS Chairman Hakan Yeşil and TMMOB Chamber of Mining Engineers Zonguldak Branch President Erdoğan Kaymakçı. Kaymakçı invited the people of Zonguldak to the May 1st Unity, Struggle and Solidarity Day to be celebrated at the Miner’s Monument and said, “As the May 1st Organizing Committee, we held our meeting to celebrate at the miner’s monument in Zonguldak on Wednesday. As a result of our meeting today, we invite all the people of Zonguldak to participate in the May 1 celebrations. “We have taken all our precautions to celebrate May 1 in unity and solidarity.” said.
ANNOUNCED THE DETAILS OF THE GREEN PROGRAM
GMIS Chairman Hakan Yeşil announced the program details. Stating that the May 1 celebrations will start from İstasyon Street, Yeşil said:
“As the Labor and Democracy Platform, we have completed all our measures and preparations. We will celebrate May 1st together with great enthusiasm. As the organizing committee, we made our decisions. May 1 celebrations; It will start at 11:00 by gathering on the İstasyon Street route. As of 12:00, we will move to the Zonguldak rally area via Ayyıldız Junction. We will be at the Miner’s Monument, the rally area, at 12:30. Our program will continue with a moment of silence and the National Anthem around 13:00. Our speakers will give their speeches.
At the end of our program, our local artists’ music group ‘desandre’ will take the stage. We will celebrate May 1st together with enthusiasm. We welcome everyone to the rally square on May 1, Labor and Solidarity Day. Because May 1 is special for us. These are areas where we can raise our voices. We will raise our voices together as a labor and solidarity platform.”
