As a result of the application made within the scope of the “Zero Waste” project initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in order to protect resources, control wastes, provide savings by bringing recyclable wastes into the economy, and leave a livable world to future generations within the framework of Mersin University (MEU) sustainable development targets. He received the Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate.

The application for the “Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate” made by Mersin University was examined and approved by the Mersin Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Mersin University, which has its name among the higher education institutions that received the Zero Waste Certificate, has thus been registered in the value it attaches to the environment.

Stating that they are carrying out extensive studies within the framework of the Green Campus, Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Yaşar said, “As a result of the work carried out by the Sustainable Environment Application and Research Center and the Zero Waste Commission, we were entitled to receive the Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate. Prof., who made great efforts in this process. Dr. Yamur Uysal, Assoc. Dr. Osman Orhan, Assoc.
