RIZE (UAV) – Intern midwife İrem Dinç, who is studying at Rize Çay Vocational Technical Anatolian High School, makes sick children happy with the cartoon characters she draws on the walls of the Pediatric Surgery Service at the hospital where she does her internship.

17-year-old Yaren İrem Dinç, who studied at Rize Merkez Çay Vocational Technical Anatolian High School, started working as a midwife assistant intern student at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (RTEU) Pediatric Surgery Service. While the walls of the Pediatric Surgery Service were being re-painted, the nurses serving in the ward said “I wish we could make it a little funupon saying “If you want I can do it” said intern student Yaren İrem Dinç, drawing cartoon characters on the hospital walls.

While Dinç drew different cartoon characters on all service walls, nurses and other intern friends also painted with great pleasure. While a colorful pediatric surgery service was created, the budget for this operation was provided by all service personnel, especially doctors and nurses. While crying sounds are heard less frequently in the ward where the patients are children, the patient’s relatives are happy that their children are having an enjoyable time.

“Small details are sometimes very beautiful”
Mehmet Mustafa Telci, who was at the Pediatric Surgery Service for his son’s circumcision, stated that they reduced his fear by talking to the child about all the characters on the walls before the circumcision and that they were very pleased with this situation. We performed the circumcision of our son. Thanks guys here helped too. We are very pleased right now. I swear, whoever thought of it, it was great. Especially thanks to our daughter who did the painting job. Small details are sometimes very beautiful. “I swear, it caught our attention.” said.

“Our intern nurse draws, and we help her and paint.”
Oya Kutlu, the nurse in charge of the pediatric surgery service, noted that when they heard that the intern student had such talent, they took action immediately and the patient’s relatives were very pleased with the situation. “Our intern friend has such an innate talent. I also wanted to add color to the pediatric surgery service. It was perfect for him. Our intern nurse draws with my friends, and we help her and paint. This is how the service came to be. Everyone is very pleased. The reactions are very nice. All our efforts are for our children anyway. It also provides some relief for sick children. You know, they are afraid, they don’t want to come to the service, they don’t want to go in, but when they see the characters and the colorful walls, they all come running. They become happy. They become happy. The most beautiful thing is a very beautiful thing for us. “Our efforts reached their goal.” he said.

“Children’s crying is at least postponed.”
Intern nurse Yaren İrem Dinç, who heard the imaginary conversations among the nurses about making the ward fun while the painting renovation started in the ward, said that she had a talent for drawing. Vigorous “The service was just being painted at that time. There were conversations with the nurses about how I wish it were a little more fancy. After that, I said I could do something like that too. That’s what I said I’ve been doing since I was little. Then we attempted something like this. He started by buying new paints together with the nurses. Then the doctors also helped. It developed little by little. Now they take photos, they entertain the children more and let them play here. You know, children’s focus is usually on walls, not characters. That’s why their crying is at least postponed. “I like it when what I do is received so well, you know, it’s appreciated.” he said.

“This is a place where there are mostly little ones, a place where they should have more fun.”
Dinç stated that his talent came from an early age and that he improved himself in painting without any training. “I’ve been dealing with something like this since I was little. That’s why it wasn’t that difficult for me, but there was never any training or extra help. In general, I developed it on my own. I mean, it varies from work to work. If you need a shadow, of course it takes more time and more effort. Lines, size and smallness make a big difference, but if a wall is of average character, we can finish painting it in a day. I think this place attracts more attention because it is a little different from other services. Because this is a place where there are mostly little ones, it is a place where they should have more fun. That’s why eliminating obstacles naturally attracts more attention. “It’s better this way.” he said.
