According to the news of Sertaç Eş from Cumhuriyet Newspaper, Karan talked about the research they did after the elections. The research was carried out by interviewing 3 thousand 62 people in 26 provinces and 92 districts.

According to the results, after counting the undecided voters when asked “Who would you vote for if there were a parliamentary election today?”, CHP came first with 34.4 percent and AKP came second with 32.5 percent. In the survey, DEM Party is the third party with 9.9 percent, and MHP is the fourth party with 9.1 percent.

Due to the 7 percent election threshold, four parties can enter the Turkish Grand National Assembly. However, although the Re-Welfare Party (YRP) increased its vote by 2.8 percent to 5.6 percent, it remains out of parliament.

A 9 percent increase in votes is observed in CHP compared to the 2023 parliamentary elections, and a 3.1 percent decrease in votes in AKP. At the same time, it is observed that the DEM Party is on the rise with 1.1 percent, and the MHP is in decline by 1 percent.

Another result came out of the survey that closely concerns CHP. To the question “Do you think CHP has the staff to govern the country?”, 39.5 percent responded positively, 49.5 percent responded negatively, and 11 percent did not respond.

Undecided people drew attention

After the local elections, the data regarding those who were undecided when asked “Which party would you vote for?” attracted attention. In the analysis of 22.7 percent of undecided voters, it was determined that 8.1 percent were between the ages of 18-34 and 9.2 percent were high school educated. Additionally, 8.9 percent of undecided voters describe themselves as nationalists, and 7.4 percent as center-right voters. According to another data, 5.9 percent of undecided voters say they voted for the People’s Alliance in the local elections, and 5.1 percent said they voted for the AKP in the 2023 parliamentary elections. According to this data, the undecided voters consist mostly of nationalists, Ataturkists and centre-right people.

THE ECONOMY LOST

The reason why the ruling party, AKP, lost in the local elections was also asked in the survey. According to the answers given, the reason for AKP’s loss was the economic crisis with 61.1 percent, the immigration problem with 8.6 percent, and the failure of the candidates with 8.5 percent.

‘AKŞENER DID GOOD TO LEAVE’

The survey’s data regarding the İYİ Party also attracted attention. Accordingly, 21.8 percent of the participants announced that they had voted for the İYİ Party since its establishment. 27.8 percent of the voters identify themselves as Ataturkists, and 28.2 percent are from idealist backgrounds. 60.9 percent of those who say they voted for the İYİ Party are positive about Akşener’s resignation as leader, while 29.7 percent are negative. To the question “Who should be the leader of the İYİ Party?”, the participants answered 22.2 percent Tolga Akalın, 21.3 percent Koray Aydın, 16.3 percent Müsavat Dervişoğlu.

Evaluating the developments in the İyi Party, Karan said, “If the will of the delegates in the congress is reflected in the ballot box in parallel with the will of the voters, the 1997 MHP Congress awaits the İYİ Party. “If the candidates receive close votes in the first round, the chairman can decide in whose favor the candidate who will come third in the race will withdraw,” he said.
