It was stated that flu infections have increased as the weather in Trabzon has been changing from hot to cold in recent days and the flu epidemic, which has been active since September last year, continues.

Making evaluations on the subject, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Faculty of Medicine Farabi Hospital Head of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department, Prof. Dr. Gürdal Yılmaz said, “The influenza epidemic has not ended; “The epidemic, which started in September, is still continuing,” he said.

Noting that infections increase as the weather changes these days, Yılmaz said, “Times of weather changes are the times when infections are most intense. Currently, we cannot find a place in the infectious diseases service because it is time for air change. With this change, all kinds of infections appear. The influenza epidemic is not over; The epidemic, which started in September, is still ongoing. We hope it will not happen in the summer. Coronavirus was also present in winter, but it was below Influenza. Influenza came to the fore. We will see coronavirus again, but I think we will encounter it less. Hygiene rules must be followed, contact with the sick person must be avoided, the sick person must use a mask. The world has become much smaller now, with travel becoming easier. There can be people almost everywhere. There are people going from Turkey to China, and there are people coming from China to Turkey. The virus can spread very easily. “We may be faced with different viruses around the world, but since a certain immunity has been formed in the society, they do not spread as much as before, and those that spread decrease and disappear at that level,” he said.
