The second Board Meeting of Zafer Development Agency in 2024 was hosted by Manisa. At the meeting, where the mayors and provincial council presidents who changed after the Local Government elections came together for the first time, views were exchanged on the work in 2023, ongoing investments in 2024 and new investments to be made.

Manisa, which has cultural and cultural value, also hosts artistic events and festivals. In the part of the meeting open to the press, Uşak Governor Dr. started by congratulating the newly elected mayors and provincial council presidents. Turan Ergün said, “Before moving on to our agenda, as you know, there were changes in our Board of Directors as a result of the local elections held on March 31. The Mayors of Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Manisa and Uşak and the Presidents of the Provincial General Assembly of Afyonkarahisar and Uşak handed over their duties, and they have contributed to both our agency and our region until today. “I would like to thank them for their contributions. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the new municipal and provincial council presidents who joined us and hope that their new duties will be beneficial.” said.

“42 projects were completed in 2023”

In his speech, Dr. talked about the agency supports for the projects completed and ongoing in 2023, the Agency activities and supports planned for 2024, and the work done since the last meeting. Turan Ergün said, “42 projects were successfully completed by our agency in 2023. Our agency provided 58.7 million TL support to these projects, ensuring the realization of a total investment of 132.7 million TL. Again, 38 new projects were signed in 2023 and the total budget of these projects was It is 207 million TL. It is anticipated that our agency will provide 73.6 million TL support to these projects. In 2023, consultancy and promotion was provided to 1,209 companies through our agency’s Investment Support Offices, and 88 companies received investment decisions for these investments. It is envisaged that a fixed investment amount of approximately 4,847 billion TL and 1,572 people will be employed within the scope of the project, which corresponds to approximately 750 thousand euros within the scope of the grant component of the Project for Supporting Civil Society through Social Entrepreneurship in Turkey, which is planned to be implemented in 2024 and in which our region is included as a pilot region. It is planned to distribute 5 million TL through a support program in which stakeholders such as women’s cooperatives and non-governmental organizations will be eligible applicants. Within the scope of the project, the Description of Action document was prepared by our agency and sent to the Central Finance and Contracts Unit, and the approval process of this document is ongoing. Within the scope of the Social Development Support Program implemented throughout Turkey by the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, 44 projects have been supported so far and it is aimed to attract at least 30 million TL resources to our region in 2024. Technical support on green transformation will be provided to private sector companies operating in Manisa within the scope of the Green Transformation in Manisa Manufacturing Industry Producing Cities Technical Support Program, which was prepared within the scope of the Producing Cities Support Program implemented by the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and planned to be announced in May. The total amount of technical support to be provided is planned to be 6.2 million TL. Within the scope of the European Union projects prepared by our agency or in which it participates jointly, it is aimed to bring a resource of approximately 1-2 million Euros to our region. Upon the issue pointed out by our Vice President, Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz, during his visit to our Afyonkarahisar province, it was decided to procure services for the preparation of the ‘TR33 Region Sustainable Geothermal Water Management Plan’ at the Board of Directors meeting of our agency dated 27.09.2023 and numbered 2023-03. With this plan, which is expected to be completed in 2024, the current situation analysis of the geothermal fields in the TR33 Region consisting of the provinces of Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Manisa and Uşak, where our agency serves, how to evaluate the geothermal potential on a basin basis according to the best practices in the world, the additional studies that need to be done and the economic opportunities that will arise. “It is aimed to determine the activities, to put forward provincial, district and field-based management model suggestions and to develop the most suitable management models in a sustainable manner that will ensure maximum benefit from the geothermal resources in the region,” he said.

“The implementation of 51 projects is being followed”

Talking about what has been done since the last Board of Directors meeting, Turan said, “The project implementations supported by our agency continue intensively and the implementation of 51 projects is being followed together with the beneficiaries. During this period, 17 projects were completed and the infrastructures created within the scope of the projects started to serve for the development of the region. Our agency and The first General Secretaries Meeting of the year was held in Afyonkarahisar, hosted by our Agency, with the participation of relevant public institutions and private sector representatives, especially the OIZs operating in Kütahya, in cooperation with the Turkish Standards Institute. Young people from Manisa showed great interest in the ‘Government Incentives Promotion Days’ event organized by the Presidential Directorate of Communications in Manisa. Young people received incentives such as support, grants, scholarships, funds and loans. had the opportunity to obtain information about its elements. Qualified Workforce Development and Support Project (NIGDEP) Collaboration between Kütahya TSO, Dumlupınar University, Kütahya İŞKUR and our agency, which aims to provide support to the qualified workforce-job matching that suits the needs of the labor market, to facilitate employers in finding suitable candidates and to offer career development opportunities to job seekers. In our third agenda, we will evaluate the work carried out within the scope of the 2024 Social Development Support Program implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
