During the inspections carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams on Sunday, April 21, one gillnet was seized and the fish were returned to the lake.
Inspections continue uninterruptedly within the scope of the “Carp Hunting Ban” in Isparta. Despite all the efforts and warnings, a massacre is being carried out in the lake by unconscious people.
The staff on duty, who saw that the carp that were supposed to be caught next season were caught in illegal nets, recorded the incident and warned once again. Employee; “On Sunday, April 21, 2024, there was 1 extension in the aquaculture inspections and controls in Karacaören Dam Lake. Our crews are currently clearing the lake for overtime. In this way, small carp fish in the nets are returned to the lake. Unfortunately, the tiny carp is only 15-20 centimeters in size. The carp that will be caught next season are caught in the nets. Unfortunately, unconscious hunting continues. Despite all our inspections and warnings, a massacre is being carried out in the lake by unconscious people. Our request once again from our hunters and citizens is that nets and other illegal hunting materials should not be left in the lake until June 15, especially during the prohibited period. “Our inspections will continue mainly in Karacaören and Eğirdir Lake,” he said.
