CHP Deputy: Bursa Metropolitan Municipality’s debt is over 20 billion TL

--

(ANKARA)- CHP Bursa Deputy Hasan Öztürk announced that the debt of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which passed from AKP to CHP in the 31 March local elections, is over 20 billion TL.

CHP Bursa Deputy Hasan Öztürk made statements about the agenda at the press conference he held in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Öztürk also announced the debt of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which passed from AKP to CHP. Öztürk stated that the statement of AKP member Alinur Aktaş, who handed over the seat on March 31, that the municipality’s debt was 7.1 billion TL, did not reflect the truth and said:

“Aktaş was not present at the handover ceremony due to the Umrah program. Our Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz, who represented him, said at the handover ceremony that the municipality and its companies have a debt of 20 billion TL. I talked to our new Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey. He said, “We are doing our work. There is a debt of 20 billion TL that the transferor reported to us. However, it seems that our debt is over 20 billion TL. We will do the necessary work and make detailed statements about them.’ We really wonder and have difficulty understanding how AKP municipalities manage municipalities in sultanate and luxury while the nation is condemned to dry bread. Our party spokesperson, Deniz Yücel, said in his statement that the debt burden of the municipalities taken over from AKP and MHP is 100 billion liras, their coffers are empty and a record of unnecessary expenditures has been broken. However, it seems that the 100 billion figure will increase even more.”
