The Regional Final of the Project Competition Among Secondary School Students is being held for the first time at Denizli EGS Congress and Culture Center, hosted by a city other than Izmir. A total of 100 projects from schools participating in the competition from the Aegean Region cities of Izmir, Aydın, Muğla, Manisa, Uşak and Denizli participated in the semi-finals.

In the Secondary School Students Research Projects competition, which was held for the 18th time this year, 100 of the 887 projects prepared in schools in the Aegean Region were deemed worthy of exhibition by the juries and were invited to the regional final. Projects that are successful in the regional final will be eligible to compete in the Türkiye final. The exhibition, which includes many interesting ideas, can be visited by secondary school students in Denizli for 3 days.

Muğla Science and Art Center Director Bekir Cevizci, who participated in the competition with 13 of the 90 projects they applied from Muğla, said, “We are experiencing the excitement of the regional final of the Project Competition among Secondary School Students. The students presented the projects they prepared throughout the year and they passed a preliminary selection. The invited projects are It will be exhibited here for 3 days. The winners will go to the Turkey Finals at the award ceremony on Thursday. We are here today with 13 projects. 13 percent of the projects in the Aegean Region belong to us. and Art Center. We applied to the Science and Technology Board with 90 projects. We are the second school in Turkey with the most project applications. There is no such success in the Aegean region. “The projects are the solutions we found in daily life problems. They made projects with patent and innovation value,” he said.

Elif Su Demir, one of the students of Muğla Science and Art Center who participated in the competition, said, “My project is a Natural Dye Source: Xanthoria Parietina. “There is a need for dyestuffs. The aim of our project was to demonstrate the effectiveness of the natural dyestuff we obtained from Xanthoria Parietina on wood, and we achieved our goal. Of course, there is this natural dyestuff in the literature, but its lack of effectiveness on wood makes our project unique.”
