German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who visited Ankara University Faculty of Languages, History and Geography within the framework of his visits to Turkey, was protested by a group of Palestinian supporters waiting there. The group, chanting slogans with banners in their hands, said in unison that Steinmeier should leave Turkey.

“They are calling for so-called humanitarian aid and peace in order to mask their dirty faces.”

Making a statement on behalf of the group, Nevzat Ölek said, “The Zionist gang and their collaborators, whose true faces are seen by the people of the world, are making so-called calls for humanitarian aid and peace in order to mask their dirty faces. On the other hand, despite the crimes against humanity, serious human rights violations and genocide they commit, they continue to stand by Israel and blame the innocent Palestinian people. “Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of Germany, one of the countries that is a friend, supporter and protector of the murderer Israel with this ambivalent attitude, came to our country for a 3-day visit and is currently here,” he said.

“Germany is complicit in this crime by supporting Israel.”

Making a call to Germany, Ölek said, “We would like to give this message to the German President from here: Israel is not a state, but an occupying terrorist organization. Members of Hamas are freedom fighters defending their homeland. Israeli invaders are invading Palestinians’ lands, homes and workplaces and stealing everything. Israel has massacred tens of thousands of people with phosphorus and cluster bombs and continues to massacre. Germany is complicit in this crime by supporting Israel, which has acted contrary to international law, the law of war and human rights law with its stance so far. President Steinmeier and German government officials must abandon these policies, which will remain a black mark on Germany’s forehead. “Germany should take its place on the side of countries like Ireland, Malta and Slovenia, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and the Republic of South Africa, which do what is necessary to be conscientious even if their people are not Muslims,” he said.
