Academy musicians in Edirne received full marks from their first concert

--

Following the screening carried out in 12 schools upon the instructions of Governor Yunus Sezer, 157 students with musical talent were selected.

Edirne Music Academy students, who have been training for about 6 months, took the stage at the 23 April Special Concert.

In the first part of the concert on the Trakya University State Conservatory stage, students taking violin, clarinet, rhythm instrument and guitar courses exhibited their skills. Little students sang Edirne folk songs and children’s songs.

Later, the children’s choir consisting of students and community artists shared the same stage.

The concert ended with the children’s choir and community artists performing the song “My Homeland”.

“We watched with pride”

Congratulating the students and artists at the end of the concert, Governor Sezer said that April 23 was celebrated with enthusiasm and a message of peace was sent from Turkey to the whole world through children.

Stating that they watched the concert given by the students studying at the Music Academy with pride, Sezer said, “I would like to thank the valuable teachers of the academy and our children. I would also like to thank our community artists, who are a great gain for our city. Our aim is to ensure that all our children in Edirne learn an instrument and improve themselves in a branch of music.” “This is a start, hopefully it will continue with other new academies.” he said.

The concert was watched by Garrison Commander Brigadier General Berat Acar, Deputy Governors Sıdkı Zehin and Eyyüp Batuhan Ciğerci, Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Hacı Ali Büber, Police Chief Onur Karaburun, institution directors, guests and guest students who were in the city for the Balkan Children’s Festival.
