ADANA – In Adana and Mersin, couples who wanted their wedding date to be special chose April 24, 2024.
Couples who made an appointment months in advance to take the first step towards marriage on a special date, created a rush at Adana Metropolitan Municipality Marriage Branch Directorate.
Due to the intensity, couples were married at intervals of 15 minutes from time to time in the marriage office.
Metropolitan Municipality Marriage Branch Manager Mehmet Özdemir told the AA reporter that couples who want to make their wedding dates unforgettable prefer the dates of special days such as 24.04.2024 or Valentine’s Day.
Explaining that they are experiencing a busy day today as many couples who will take the first step towards marriage want to get married on April 24, 2024, Özdemir said, “While normally we hold 3,500 weddings a year in our directorate, an average of 10 weddings a day, today we will have 20 weddings. We wish them happiness.” said.
Servet Büyük, who chose today to get married, said that he was happy to marry Merve Birkeser, whom he has been with for 2 years, on a special date.
Merve Birkeser also stated that they chose today to make a meaningful day more meaningful.

In Mersin, 17 couples chose 24.04.2024 as their wedding date.
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Marriage Officer Dilek Yörük told the AA reporter that there was a rush due to April 24.
Stating that they received many requests for today, Yörük said, “Normally, we hold 6-7 weddings on weekdays, but we have 17 weddings specifically for today. Couples want to get married today because no one wants to miss the special date.” said.
Tolga Köse and Ayşegül Akin, who decided to get married, got married at the ceremony in the municipality’s wedding hall.
Stating that their wedding was held on a beautiful date, Akin said, “We specifically chose today, even though it was a weekday. We knew that the participation would be low, but we wanted it to be a special day to remember.” he said.
Groom Tolga Köse also noted that they were happy to get married on 24.04.2024.
