The horrifying incident took place yesterday around 19:00 at Göztepe Oral and Dental Health Center in Kadıköy.
An argument broke out between Erdal Çaycı (43), who worked as the security chief at the hospital, and his friend of 15 years, Deputy Security Chief Atilla Ay (47).
The shift discussion quickly turned into a fight. During the fight in the system room of the hospital, Erdal Çaycı started beating Atilla Ay with a stick.
While Atilla Ay died at the scene, Erdal Çaycı called the police and said that he had killed his colleague.
Police teams arriving at the scene found Atilla Ay lying motionless on the ground.
After the crime scene investigations, Atilla Ay’s body was taken to the forensic medicine institution. The attacker was detained and taken to Kadıköy Public Order Bureau.

In his statement to the police, it was learned that Erdal Çaycı said that Atilla Ay had recently wanted to make changes regarding shift hours and that there was an argument between them for this reason.
Çaycı, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was sent to the courthouse.
