Çanakkale Wars Gallipoli Historical Area President İsmail Kaşdemir told the AA correspondent that this region is one of the most visited places by visitors in the historical area.

of the field, “Canakkale spirit”Kaşdemir stated that it has become a place where one can feel better, travel in a time tunnel and experience the historical atmosphere. “Especially during the last Ramadan Bayram holiday, around 2 million visitors came to the peninsula. This is the highest number of visitors we have ever seen.” said.

“A trench war in which the distance between trenches drops to 8-9 meters”

Kaşdemir stated that they dream that there will be no citizen who does not see Çanakkale, does not visit it, and does not breathe the “Çanakkale spirit”.

Kaşdemir emphasized that they want every Turkish child to come running to Çanakkale and understand better how these lands were made a homeland, and continued as follows:

This is an open air museum. The best preserved battlefield in the world. We strive to preserve and protect the heirloom works of our ancestors and pass them on to future generations. Çanakkale Land Wars is a trench war in which great struggles took place in the trenches of both sides for months and the distance between the trenches decreased to 8-9 meters. We are trying to convey both the difficult and painful sides of the war here in the hospital garden. And right next to it, we portray a real Turkish trench in the conditions of that period and convey it to the visitor. What does a Mehmetçik do in the trench, how does he lie down, how does he sleep, what does he eat and drink, how does he spend his time; In this reenactment area, we recreate life in the trenches.

İsmail Kaşdemir explained that this area appeals to many emotions.

Describing the region as emotionally charged places, Kaşdemir continued his words as follows:

We see that many visitors come here and are so emotional that they cannot control their tears at times. We tell the real and painful face of the war to the visitors. ‘Çanakkale spirit’ is a very high character, a state of mind that emerges as a result of a very high emotion. Every Turkish child definitely has the ‘Çanakkale spirit’ in their heart. This feeling, this spirit, is more revealed here and surrounds people.
