According to the compilation of Automotive Industry Association data, association member companies produced 238 thousand 274 automobiles in the January-March period of this year.
Bursa, which hosts companies such as OYAK Renault and TOFAŞ, made the biggest contribution to Turkey’s automobile production. OYAK Renault became the factory that produced the most automobiles in the country with 84 thousand 458 automobiles in the first 3 months of the year.
Hyundai Assan in Kocaeli ranked second with 63 thousand 850 units, Toyota operating in Sakarya ranked third by manufacturing 51 thousand 700 automobiles, and TOFAŞ based in Bursa ranked fourth with 38 thousand 266 automobiles.
Bursa, where a total of 122 thousand 724 cars were taken off the line, had a 51.50 percent share in Turkey’s automobile production in the first quarter of 2024.
The average number of daily cars taken off the line in Bursa was 1363.1.
The company that exported the most cars was Hyundai Assan.
In the first quarter of the year, 154 thousand 319 automobiles, corresponding to 64.76 percent of the total automobile production in Turkey, were exported.
Hyundai Assan ranked first in exports with 56 thousand 883 units. The exports of the second-ranked OYAK Renault were recorded as 49 thousand 71 units, the third Toyota’s exports were 37 thousand 927 and the fourth TOFAŞ’s exports were recorded as 10 thousand 438 units.
Bursa contributed 38.56 percent to Turkey’s total automobile exports.
Meanwhile, while the daily export average from Turkey in terms of units was 1714.6 in the January-March period, this figure was recorded as 661.2 for Bursa.
