Bodrum Mayor Handed Over His Seat to a Student

(MUĞLA) – Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci handed over his seat to secondary school student Yiğit Erdoğan on the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.

The handover of seats to children identified with April 23 also took place in Bodrum Municipality. President Mandalinci entrusted his seat to secondary school student Yiğit Erdoğan for a day.

Yiğit Erdoğan thanked Mayor Mandalinci, who left the presidential seat to him, and said, “I want a world where all children in the world live in peace and brotherhood, away from war. As the Mayor of Bodrum, I will work to make all children happy.”

Yiğit Erdoğan wished to open places such as entertainment workshops, sports activity areas, and scientific research centers where children can have fun and discover their talents, so that children can access more information in these areas. He added that he will take the necessary measures to leave a cleaner environment and sea to future generations and will attach importance to afforestation projects for a greener nature.

Mandalinci congratulated Yiğit Erdoğan and said, “Today’s little ones are the future of our tomorrow and the cornerstone and guarantee of our Republic. Getting them good education, continuing this life with a clean environment, providing them with equal opportunities in education, culture, science and art, our future will be brighter, “I thank my president very much for his thoughts,” he said.

Stating that he also sat in the presidential chair on April 23 when he was a child, Mandalinci said:

“I sat in that seat very enthusiastically when I was in the second grade. A lot of time has passed and today, as the Mayor of Bodrum, I feel great honor and honor to serve the people of Bodrum.”
