Independent accountants and financial advisors protested

Accountants, who came together at the Atatürk Monument under the leadership of the Edirne Chamber of Independent Accountants and Financial Advisors, took action by voicing the problems they experienced. Before the press statement, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was sung.

The press release, held simultaneously by independent accountants and financial advisors across Turkey, was held in front of the Atatürk Monument in Edirne. Many chamber members attended the statement. Edirne SMMMO President Cüneyt Keskin, who read the press release, criticized the workload and overtime conditions of financial advisors.

Keskin stated that while reducing weekly working days is being discussed in developed countries to increase work efficiency, financial advisors are in offices almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and that 125 thousand independent accountants and financial advisors, 5 thousand sworn financial advisors and 18 thousand interns are operating throughout the country.

Stating that 77 chambers of independent accountants and financial advisors and 8 certified public accountants provide services under the umbrella of TÜRMOB, Keskin mentioned that the number of declarations and notifications received through members of the profession is increasing day by day and the contents of these declarations and notifications are becoming more difficult day by day.

Keskin stated that they requested that inflation correction be applied without any tax effect in 2024 and the following years, and said, “The Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Revenue Administration, together with their justifications, for not carrying out inflation correction transactions in provisional tax periods due to the fact that 2024 is a transition period and the secondary legislation is published quite late and excessive density.” We request that our application to the . “Considering the extraordinary conditions experienced in the region, the ongoing force majeure situation in the earthquake region should be extended until the end of the year.”
