Yakutiye Municipality launched a cleaning campaign to rid the district of the garbage left over from the winter. The method followed by the cleaning teams made us give up. The teams collected the garbage accumulated on the roadside in Rabiaana District and set it on fire, making the citizens say ‘can such cleaning be possible?’ Instead of using the trash can right next to them or removing the debris from the neighborhood, the teams set fire to the items they collected. When a sensitive citizen saw the flames rising, he called the police and reported the situation. The teams came to the area upon notice and investigated the scene.

Citizens stated that it was wrong to clean the garbage by burning it and said, “The teams collected the garbage, but then they set it on fire. As residents of the area, we were disturbed by both the smoke and this image. When we saw the flames rising next to the houses, we called the police. “There can be no such unconscious cleaning,” they said.
