1096 irregular immigrants were caught in Edirne in the last month

While gendarmerie teams continue their checks at the entrance of Edirne city, the police continue their inspections in the city center uninterruptedly.

As a result of the work of the teams, 1096 irregular immigrants were caught in the last month. The immigrants were sent to the Provincial Immigration Administration for processing.

The majority of the captured irregular immigrants were Afghan and Pakistani nationals.

Within the scope of the operations, 54 people were detained on suspicion of human trafficking.

29 of the suspects were arrested on charges of human trafficking.

Meanwhile, police teams in the city center also carried out police operations in hotels within the scope of their efforts to combat immigrant smuggling.

Those staying in hotels and businesses were checked.
