The blood and fat of the Turks, whom Armenians gathered and burned alive in the Grand Mosque in Kars in 1918, saying ‘we will make an agreement’, are still on the walls of the mosque.

The Grand Mosque, located in Kars Kaleiçi District and built in the 17th century during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Sulan Ibrahim, carries the vivid traces of Armenian atrocities to the present day. The mosque was destroyed and rendered unusable by deceiving 286 prominent people of the city during the years when Kars was under Russian occupation after the 1877-78 Ottoman-Russian War, gathering them in the Grand Mosque with the promise of “we will make an agreement” and then burning them. The traces of blood and oil splattered on the walls of people burned alive still remain as they were that day.
The original 2 stones of the wall, where traces of blood and oil of people were burned, are kept in the frame. These ruins, which are documents of the Armenian massacre, are preserved by the mosque association.
Ulu Mosque Association President Yasin Aşkın Yıldırım said that Kars Ulu Mosque is the mosque where the most dramatic events took place in Turkey.
Mayor Yıldırım said, “Kars Grand Mosque is the mosque where the most dramatic events took place in Turkey. In 1918, the prominent people of Kars from the Armenian Dashnak gangs gathered and said ‘we will exchange information about our problems here’. The notables of Kars were approximately 286 people. It is said. They collected mosques and set them on fire. They martyred him. “We have the Quran read here every year to commemorate these martyrs,” he said.
The ‘blood and oil’ traces of the Turks burned by the Armenians on the walls of the Kars Grand Mosque are preserved by being framed. The inscription in front of the Grand Mosque includes photographs of Armenian atrocities.
