In 1915, Armenians gathered Turks at the Grand Mosque in Kars, saying ‘we will make an agreement’, and burned them alive. Traces of the blood and oil of the burning Turks remain on the walls of the mosque.
The Grand Mosque, located in Kaleiçi District and built in the 17th century during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Sultan Ibrahim, bears the vivid traces of Armenian atrocities.

Stating that Armenians burned people alive, Ulu Mosque Association President Yasin Aşkın Yıldırım said, “As you know, every year, there are rumors about the Armenian massacres in 1915, both in Europe and America. Kars is a city where many massacres took place, especially around it. Yıldırım said, “We placed 2 of our stones in a frame in the Grand Mosque. There is a frame that we placed in glass with traces of people’s oil on it after it was burned. It is beneficial for everyone to see this place. It is beneficial for them to learn its history. As you know, nations that do not protect their history have disappeared. Here is living history.” ” he said.
In April 1915, in the Grand Mosque, Armenians deceived 285 prominent people of the city with the promise of ‘we will make an agreement’, gathered them in the mosque and set them on fire.
The traces of the blood and oil of people burned alive spattered on the walls are still preserved. The original 2 stones of the wall, where traces of blood and oil of burned people are found, are kept in the frame.
