Nurettin Can, who lives in Afetevleri District, delivered the carpets in his house to a company in Doğan District to be washed. Business owner Servet Azğan found a bag containing approximately 60 thousand liras of gold among one of the carpets left behind. Azğan called his customer and gave information and delivered the gold, the amount of which he confirmed, to Can.
Stating that they encountered similar situations, Servet Azğan said, “We took the carpets from our customer’s house. While we were opening the carpets, we came across jewelry inside. We found a piece of jewelry estimated to be around 60 thousand lira. We identified our customer. We called and confirmed. Thank you, he came out too. We counted it in front of the camera and handed it over to our brother. This is what we must do, it is our civic duty. We have come across such situations before, but never in such large quantities. Sometimes items such as rings, earrings and phones are forgotten. We are used to such situations. “As in the previous ones, we identified our customers and delivered them to them,” he said.

Thanking the business owner, Nurettin Can said, “While sitting on the balcony, I saw the employees of the carpet washing company bringing another customer’s carpets. I also wanted to have my own carpets washed. I said, ‘Take our carpets too.’ We took the carpets to the apartment entrance. They took it, put it in their vehicles and took it away. While I was sitting at my nephew’s workplace, they called and said they found a jewelery in one of the carpets. So I called my family and asked if there were jewelry in the carpets and whether they belonged to us. My wife said it belonged to us. I called the business owner back and he asked about the quantity and the color of the bag. I told him that there were 10 quarters and 1 Republic gold coin in a red bag. Then he said ‘you can come and get it’. So I came and picked it up. “I thank him very much, may God bless his work,” he said.
