Adem Uzun, came ahead of the Great Unity Party with 43.3% of the votes and 78,154 votes. His closest rival was Hilmi Bilgin from the AK Party. Adem Uzun, born in Sivas in 1980, completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Sivas. Uzun, who graduated from Sivas Cumhuriyet University Social Studies Teaching Department, completed his master’s and doctoral studies at Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences.
Uzun, who served as the director of Sivas Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) between 2014 and 2022, resigned from Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Education, where he had been working as a faculty member since 2022, due to his candidacy for mayor.
