Ali Selim Customer, one of the football referees of the Sivas region, and Soner Eyyüp Customer, the son of the candidate football referee, took part in the same trio in the Sivas Belediyespor-Çimentospor match.

Ali Selim Customer, one of the Sivas provincial football referees, served with his son, a candidate football referee, in the Sivas Belediyespor – Çimentospor match in the U15 League, played at the 4 Eylül Spor Vadisi football field. Ali Selim Customer and his son Soner Eyyüp Customer had an important experience by taking part in the same struggle. This match was the 5th match in which father and son took part together.
Ali Selim Customer: “An indescribable feeling”
Referee Ali Selim Customer stated that he had unforgettable moments in the match he played with his son and said that his son’s interest in refereeing emerged by seeing the referee equipment. The customer said, “I started this community in 2010. We continue to add value to Turkish football and Turkish refereeing. It is a very exciting feeling to manage a match with my son. It is an indescribable feeling. As we are nearing the end of our refereeing, I want to offer this service to our son and leave it as a legacy. Handing over the flag is very different for us. I can say that it is the greatest value and the greatest pride for him to serve the Turkish referee. It would be even more proud for us if he serves sports instead of doing other things. “Sir, I want to serve this job too,” he said. “We said of course. He has been in this community for about 3 months. We expect him to serve Turkish football and Turkish refereeing in the top leagues for many years.”
“He is my son until we compete”
‘Are there any positions you disagree with during the match?’ Ali Selim Customer answered the question: “He is my son until he plays the match. My son is the same for me as my other referee friends are after the match. In fact, the way he addresses me within our community is my teacher. I address him the same way. After we get on the field, in cases where we do not agree.” “I communicate with him the same way I communicate with other referees. He will definitely make mistakes. Football is a game of mistakes. Just as our referees and coaches in the top leagues make mistakes, we, too, will definitely make mistakes.”
Soner Eyyüp Customer: “I want to advance to the Super League”
17-year-old candidate referee Soner Eyyüp Customer said, “It is a very exciting feeling for me. Because playing a match with my father is truly an indescribable feeling and an exciting situation. I was constantly watching the matches. My father was also going out of town for the matches. I was also intrigued by the materials. Then I said that I wanted to be a referee and I attended the Candidate Referee Course. I am currently working in Sivas as a candidate referee. I believe that I can go up to the Super League in refereeing. The issues that I do not agree with my father are as follows. “We can live it, but then we handle it with eye movements and our communication on the field,” he expressed his feelings. – SİVAS
