Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek pointed out that investors in the USA have great interest in Turkey and said, “We are strengthening the macroeconomic foundations with disinflation, structural reforms and financial discipline, and this attracts a lot of attention. That’s why investor interest was simply perfect.” Evaluating his contacts during his visit to the USA, Şimşek said that they also attended IMF and World Bank meetings and G20 meetings, held more than 20 investor meetings with large groups and came together with hundreds of investors.
“We made comprehensive presentations to the investors about the implementation of the Medium Term Program (MTP), the gains achieved and the future course,” said Şimşek, adding: “There is great interest in Turkey. From 7 in the morning until 11-12 in the evening There were days when we attended meetings and held 18 programs in Washington. Because we are one of the rare country programs with a history and credibility, Turkey’s story is already a strong, large, developing economy.
