Mersin’s central district Akdeniz Mayor Hoşyar Sarıyıldız handed over his seat to the children Devrim Geriş and Tuna Akdoğan on the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
Children Devrim Geriş and Tuna Akdoğan, who came to the municipality hand in hand with Mayor Sarıyıldız for the representative handover ceremony, were welcomed by the staff with colognes. Then, the children took office and gave instructions to the relevant units as president. The children stated that there was no library in their neighborhood, asked for a library to be built, and thanked Atatürk for giving April 23 as a holiday. Then, they wanted the streets to be cleaner.

Stating that they are very happy to host the children, Akdeniz Municipality Mayor Hoşyar Sarıyıldız said; “Today is April 23, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. By entrusting our seats to our children, who are our future, we showed what our children can actually do when given the opportunity. They conveyed to us what a bright future they have with their stance and speeches.
