Speaking at a meeting held recently, Governor Kaya made statements about the collapse on the hospital road. Kaya said, “While preparing the project, there is no minibus stop there. There is no place for taxis to stop there. So I went and examined it. At least if we build pockets for them while this road is being built, it is necessary to create a safe road environment where minibuses can stop and where citizens can stop and get on and off. A little bit.” The wall of the hospital should also be moved inside. It would be nice to manage the traffic of the citizens there. As it is, the project was drawn incorrectly. All of these should have been considered. Since the road was not considered, this was also an opportunity. “Let’s at least do it properly while doing it. Such planning is not really possible. It is not regulated where the taxi will enter and exit. Unfortunately, there is chaos there.”
Thanking the 14th Regional Directorate of Highways, Governor Kaya said, “Let us be informed while the project tender is being made, so that we can plan it. At least it does not turn into a puzzle problem again. I thank the Directorate for your understanding. This place was not on the Highway network. Previously, when the hospital was opened.” This road was built for convenience. But this road slipped. There was a grievance here, too. They said, “We cannot remain indifferent to this. It is not possible for the municipality to build a road in accordance with the highway standards.” “Our Minister gave the instruction and our directorate started working quickly. I thank your directorate for your sensitivity,” he said.
Yalova Mayor Mehmet Gürel reminded that the wall behind the hospital is also problematic and said, “We need to speed this up. I have previously expressed political concerns about the hospital environment. Just as there is a problem at the front of the hospital, there are also problems at the back. The bottom of the retaining wall behind the hospital is empty. The soil is empty.” It is slipping under it. We need to look at that as well. The projects around this hospital need to be completed as soon as possible. It is an area that concerns the entire city. I also shared with the citizens the solutions to the transportation problem in the city center. “It needs to be completed as soon as possible. I need to know when the Ring Road will be completed and we will make a plan in the city center accordingly,” he said.
Highways 14th Regional Deputy Director Alican Birincioğlu also included the following words in his statements: “The tender process for the Southern Ring Road continues. The completion of the Southern Ring Road is likely to be in 2026. Our municipality has also carried out a project study regarding the hospital road, but since there are no criteria that fully comply with the Highways standards, the project has been terminated.” “We are doing it according to the highways.
